The Cannon Free Library’s exciting All Together Now summer reading program has begun, and next week, we’ll be hosting a visit from a Firefighter on Tuesday, July 11 at the 10:30 Storytime. Later that Tuesday (3pm,) Lego Club! Come into our airconditioned children’s room and build things.
Crafternoon is planned for 3 pm on Wednesday, July 12. Crafteroon is always fun, and on the 12th, we’ll be creating little turtles that are all wound up. They sort of defy description! Of interest to adults, the Writers’ Group will hold their monthly meeting at 1pm on the afternoon of the 12th.
For those interested in the physical environment, we’ll be jointly hosting an informative program with the Delhi Historical Society. Mary Keefe of the Catskill Regional Invasive Species Program will discuss the group’s mission to promote education, prevention, early detection and control of invasive species and to limit their impact on the ecosystems and economies of the Catskills. 6pm.
Everyone’s invited to the Ice Cream Social on Saturday the 15th, being held in the lawn between the Cannon House and the library. This free affair is courtesy of the Delhi Historical Society. There will be a local history trivia contest, a book signing by Mary Lou Oliver, and Matt Wheeler will be displaying some interesting old maps of the area. 1:00-3:00, with a rain date of July 16,
At 3pm the afternoon of Tuesday, July 18, local author Tracey West will be in the library to read from her newest and not-yet-published Dragon Masters book. If you’re a Dragon Masters fan, don’t miss this opportunity!
Our book club will meet on Wednesday, July 19 at 1 pm to discuss Charmaine Wilkerson’s Black Cake. There are still copies available to borrow should you need one.
